Mexico-Week 19

Hello everyone!
My companion and I at the "welcome to San Juan" sign.

Mom, have I told you that both pairs of shoes we bought from the Sister Missionary Mall have died.  They can’t be repaired even. So, I use the same pair every day.  lol Life's an adventure!

Ok, so about my week…we worked hard all week long to try and get Eliseo to be baptized.  We went all out.  But, he refused to be baptized for his one and only doubt – He asks us why is the Sabbath on Sunday and not on Saturday?  The blessing is that he is still coming to church! :)  So, there's hope yet.
This is my district.

This week our theme was faith.  Faith makes such a difference in our lives.  We learned that if you confide in the Lord, he will come through for you, even if it’s not in the way you expect.  And he really does have a plan and that plan includes giving people their agency.  Which is hard at times, but is true.  We can choose for ourselves the things we want in this life and we can choose the way of everlasting life or of spiritual death.  That’s great, because without it - well, can you imagine? We wouldn’t progress, getting nowhere in this life! We could never become like our Father!  I’m grateful that people can choose not to accept our message or accept our message - because it means that I can choose to accept it and teach others to love God.
Someone asked me if it was cold at night in my house.  Yes, it is getting cold, especially at night.  Do you have heat?  No.  Are we freezing all night long?  Yup. Have you eaten any really weird foods? We had peaches and ice cream with chili powder.  And I’ve eaten cactus too.
Have a great week! Love Hermana Talbot
