Hello everyone!
This week was a whirlwind.
I’ve never done so much in a day in my whole life but it was totally
awesome.
First, we had no
electricity in our house for 3 days, which meant that all of our food went bad
and that we were showering and planning and studying in the dark. We couldn’t cook for 3 days. Such an
adventure! Actually it wasn’t that bad, but it was stressful. We don’t
know what was wrong with the luz (light). It just went out one morning
and we tried everything we could to get it back. We went to the central place for the luz and
everything. They sent two people over and they couldn’t figure it out. Romueldo
sent a friend of his as well but that did nothing. Then, on the third
day, we came home and the lights magically came on. Prayers work people. Trust
in God.
Secondly, we had intrevistas
(interviews) with Presidente. That was both scary and awesome. I’ve
never felt so planchado en mi vida (burned in my life) pero (but) in the end it really
helped us to grow a lot and to have more faith in God. He told the whole
zone that if we weren’t planning a baptismal service every week that we didn’t
trust God. So, what did we do? We
went home and planned a baptismal service.
We are having a lot of faith. A lot. A lot. We’ll see what
happens! Presidente's awesome and really does receive revelation from God!
Thirdly, we went to the Pena
again today. I bought a painting – I’ll send a picture next week. It
was great but really, really tiring. I’m soooo out of shape after not
doing stuff like that for four months! We ate hotdogs and cookies at the
top of the mountain and climbed up way higher than we're supposed to go. But
it was awesome. We had to go in missionary clothes, which wasn’t fun.
We haven’t had saldo on our
phone (minutes on the cell phone)all week.
Here are answers to your
letters and questions:
Yaya, Josh got his braces off! Way to go! You look great, la
verdad (it’s true).
I haven’t tried any weird food yet, apart from cactus, which is
GROSS. The cactus flowers are super good but the cactus itself is sooooo
gross. But we have to eat everything that they serve us and try not to
throw up. Elder Erekson actually did throw
up the first time he tried it).
I’m doing very good (I think) at learning Spanish. I can understand
99 percent of what people say and the rest I can understand their explanation.
It’s kind of great. I can’t read or write in Spanish that well yet
though, so I’m working on that.
Mom, I can’t believe you went to New York City! I hope you had a great time. I loved it there. Queretaro is nothing like New York, but it is
still awesome.
Elena went to a Science Power seminar at the U? She got to
dissect a cow eyeball? THIS SOUNDS SO COOL! What was it like? Was it gross?
Adios, Hermana Talbot
