Mexico-Week 8

Hola Everyone,

Here’s some stuff about our investigators - Romueldo is awesome.  This week while he was working in another city he read all the way to 2 Nephi 21.  Which, is insanity.  He received an answer about the Book of Mormon and recognized it before we had even taught him about it!  GOLDEN INVESTIGATOR!!!!!!!!!! It’s kinda awesome.  He attended church :) and has a date for baptism.  We're happier than two bugs in a rug with him.  Ireri not so much.  She is having troubles getting her ex-missionary husband, who’s inactive, to agree to be married.  Also, two of her grandparents died this week so she can’t sleep and fell asleep right before church started and so didn’t come.  We are super worried about her and what we can do to help her right now.  Her husband has an interview this week with the stake president this week (we love him - we met him this week and he really is getting people to help us in the ward).

What spiritual insights have I had? - well, it’s not a spiritual one, really but PREACH MY GOSPEL IS AMAZING.  It really has everything you would ever need to know as a missionary.  My Bible in Spanish finally has all the scriptures that we use as missionaries for all the lessons (that I’ve found so far) marked and tabbed.  Halleluiah!

Funny things that have happened - people call me gwera now because the sun has died my hair so much that I’m this weird blondish color.  Maybe I’ll dye it blond.  What'd you think?

Ward stuff - the bishop is still new so things have been changing in this ward every week.  The stake president was in ward council this week and really got things moving for us.  He gave out assignments (really specific ones with dates to complete and report by and everything) and it was awesome.  We freaking love him.  He's awesome.  He’s supportive.  Motivated members are the best!

Mission stuff - we had our 2nd emergency cambio of this cambio.  Elder Subias had to go home for surgery on his teeth and so Elder Jackson got transferred to Idaquatyo(sp) and Elders Villasboa and Elder Escophi (sp) are working in both San Juan and in Lomas 1.  President is prepping San Juan for sisters, we think,  but we don’t really know.

Have a great week.

Hermana Talbot
