Mexico-Week 5

Hello everyone!

Ireri is getting baptized later on because she wanted to get baptized the same day as her son who turns 8 on the 6th of September.  We are anxiously preparing for her.  Ah, so stressful!!  If we baptize anyone within two transfers, it’ll be a miracle, because #1- we opened this area and #2- we found her 3 weeks ago so we're very excited!

Things are getting better and better.  The culture differences sometimes make things hard, but we are working it out.

About the spiders – I’m not getting anywhere near those things, especially for a picture.  I don’t want to die!

A crazy thing happened today.  We found a baby bird in our house when we woke up.  Eventually you’ll get a picture of that.  We had to find his family and give him back.  The little guy was trying to fly way before he was ready.  Also, one of my towels is ruined from cockroaches.  Gross.  And my watch battery died so I bought a new one.

We had zone conference this week and President is awesome.  I have such a respect for him.  He’s very spiritual.  We learned a lot about faith and how, without faith, you have nothing.  Everything is based on faith.  Don’t want to read your scriptures? Faith is lacking.  Don’t attend church?  Faith is lacking.  Don’t believe the Book of Mormon is true?  Faith is lacking.  So, we've been going full throttle with that theme this week and it has turned out really well.  I can also understand a lot more Spanish which really helps when we are teaching.  :)  Everyone should go read Hebrews 11 and 12:1-2.  Seriously.  Blows my mind.

Here’s something that is different here-you can’t leave a voice message because it costs an arm and a leg.

Mom, you asked what I needed.  What do i need?  Possibly sleep.  I think I’m pretty good actually.  They give us money every month for things like shampoo and what not (It’s Mexican shampoo, by the way, that is different than American shampoo.)

 Take care.  Love, Hermana Talbot
