MTC-Week 4

Hola!  We met our new teachers.  Their names are Hermano Byrd and Hermano Castro.  They are both cool, but we miss Hermano Angel tons.  I finally got some pictures of the elderitos (yep, we call them that, even though we aren’t supposed to. J)  They are hilarious.  Their testimonies are so strong.  They’ve all become my brothers overnight.  Their names are:  Thompson, Nielson, Ryan, King, Ward, Brough and Messerly.  We play a mean game of volleyball every day during exercise time.  The only rule is that the ball can’t touch the ground.  We get a lot of bruises diving.  They are a badge of pride. I will answer some of your questions:  1. The amount of the food in the packages is awesome, but we wouldn’t be averse to getting more. J (hahaha! But seriously, thank you for the treats.)

2.  The elders don’t wear their jackets in class.  The classroom is still freezing though.

3.  The assignment to be on the curb greeting new missionaries is randomly given to people in their mailboxes.  No one in our district has received one so far.

4.  Every Sunday we have to have a talk written in Spanish for Sacrament meeting.  (Mine’s done!)  The presidency randomly chooses 2 speakers to give their talks.  Every other Sunday we have to teach a lesson for Sunday School.  This week it is mine and Hermana Erickson’s turn

I love the spirit of this place and of these people.  Missions are hard, but so great!

Thank you to Grandma for the cinnamon rolls.  I love them!  Mom, the piñata you sent has become the zone’s pet.  The hug-o-grams are so cute.  I love them!  I’m sending you back a hug.

I get my travel plans next week.  I’m super excited.

Who knows the difference between por and para?  I do!  I’ve been studying and learning so much.

Elder Ballard and Elder Christopherson have both spoken to us this week.  Also, Sister Janice Kapp Perry came.  I got a picture with her.  There have been so many awesome talks here in the MTC.

Our fake investigator is getting baptized this week.  I suppose that means we are doing something right even though we don’t know the language.  Being able to laugh at yourself is a valuable trait.  We’ve been talking in all Spanish 24/7 all week.  We carry around dictionaries and grammar books with us so we can talk like normal human beings.  It is pretty funny because we have to pause our volleyball games to look up how to say stuff.
Sorry no pictures this week.  It takes forever to upload them and I ran out of time.  I will send some next week.

Paz este con ustedes, Annika
