Hola!
Halloween here is nothing like
Halloween in the U.S. The kids do dress
up here and they go around asking for candy, but they also sing a song and it
lasts for a few days, not just one day.
There are 3 days in which you can ask for sweets and they do it all 3
days. It isn’t called Halloween, it is called Dias de los Muertos and each day
is set aside to remember a different group of relatives that have died. The cemetery gets all decked out and they think
about their ancestors during this time.
I’m freaking out about going
home. I thought I’d be calmer about
going home but I’m super nervous about it. What if I can’t speak English? People have told me that coming home is a
really hard transition so now I’m nervous.
This is what a pair of shoes looks like after 17 months on a mission.
Our investigators are good. :) Daniel and Ceci are progressing a lot and
continue to come to church.
My Grandma went to visit her
brothers in Mexico this week. It sounds
like she had a lot of fun. She even got
to see my uncle who is a mission president.
I can’t wait to hear if her NORTEÑAN accent sounds different than what I’ve
heard in my mission.
Writing letters at this point feels
weird because I’ll be home in 3 weeks.
It is so strange to write that.:) I can’t wait to smother my family
and to have my family smother me! I have
a long list of foods I’m going to eat too!
Now I just have to find a place with good Mexican food in Utah and
Rexburg.
