So, I just finished getting
the worst hair cut of my life. Also, I
have gray hairs now.
It
was fun to hear about everyone’s Pioneer Day celebrations. In Mexico Mormons do not celebrate Pioneer
Day.
This week, we didn’t
accomplish much. We had a lot of meetings.
There were 2 baptisms this week which was great. Our investigators are progressing. We are helping
people come to their own answers and making their commitments with the Lord.
This week’s theme is accepting
the Lord’s will:
The Lord almost always has
different plans than we do, some of which we don’t like, and some of which we
angrily try to reprimand him for. However, at the end of the day, he is the
gardener here, and he knows what He’s doing.
This week we found a family
of 10 people. There are really 3
families of them living there but they’re all related in one way or another. We
got in because the women of the family wanted our help with their husbands who
drink. We helped them set goals and they
told us that they did want to make changes but just didn’t think it was
possible to get out of the poverty they were in. They were desperate and
depressed and didn’t know what to do. We shared some things they could do to
feel hope in their lives. It was such a great
experience and I have a lot of hope for them all.
I’ve learned so many things
on my mission. I just read a great talk
by Elder Uchtdorf called The Merciful Obtain Mercy.
Here is one more video to
watch that I really like:
Have
a great week! Love, Hermana Talbot
