Hola everyone!
This is the famous Filipe. He’s world known and has traveled a ton. Also, he’s a little crazy. It’s sort of a joke. Literally, everyone here knows who he is and I had heard of him before I came to this area. He’s kinda famous in México in the missionary world. With us is Hermana Maria Eugenia, a recent convert.
This week was super
interesting. I’m sick with a stomach
infection :( I’ve lost weight.
NO ONE HAS TRANSFERS. MY
COMP AND I WILL BE TOGETHER FOR ANOTHER 6 WEEKS.
My camera is broken. I can’t
look at the photos but I can take them and I can send them. It’s weird.
The ward continues the same
as well as the investigators. We do have someone who wants to be baptized
though! His name is Jonathan and he wants to be baptized. He’s working on giving up his addiction to
coffee. I think this’ll be great.
I ate something even more
disgusting than cactus - they’re called cueritos. (Pig skin)
My sister and my
brother went on a pioneer trek last week.
I remember going on my trek. It was
awesome! I’m so glad they were able to
go and had such great experiences and could feel the Spirit. It really puts a new spin on Family History
work. Here’s one experience my brother shared:
“Our company leader shared his testimony. It was really inspiring. He
talked about his conversion to the church and how a bunch of his friends who
were Mormon didn’t tell him about the church and after he was baptized he asked
them why. They said that they didn’t think he would accept it. He then said an
amazing and powerful sentence that I will never forget. “You never know who
needs it (the gospel). It is an amazing and powerful thing. Never ignore your
promptings. People need it. And in that moment when my friends ignored their
promptings is when I needed it most.”
My little brother is
growing up so fast...:') he also said this:
“I hope that what I
learned from trek will make me a better person. I hope it will make me more
loving, more kind, happier, more grateful, more accepting, and make me have a
stronger testimony. The church is true. I love this gospel so much. I thank the
Lord for it every day. I know that the scriptures are true. The know the Holy Ghost
has told me. On the second night of trek
we read a scripture that really stuck with me. And if men come unto
me I will show unto them their weakness. I give unto men weakness that they may
be humble; and my grace is sufficient for all men that humble
themselves before me; for if they humble themselves before me, and have faith
in me, then will I make weak things become strong unto them. This was
really powerful and amazing to me.” What
an amazing testimony, Josh. Thanks for
sharing it.
People always ask me
what my favorite part of my mission is.
It is watching people change their lives.
The missionary
work is going well. We are changing our way of teaching...it’s been
interesting, it seems to be working
really well.
Adios, Hermana Talbot
