Mexico-Week 23

Hola!  Well, this has been an interesting week. My sprained foot is still hurting.  We went to Querétaro to play sports with Pres. and while we were there he told me that I wouldn’t be transferred and then, later in the week I got a call that I was being transferred! :'(  I actually cried when I found out.  I really don’t want to leave my companion or this area.  But, the Lord has spoken and I must go.  I’m going to Quintas, Querétaro. It is in the same zone and in the same building as Presidente.  Yup :) I am super sad, but it’s also a good thing because I get to know new parts of México and new people.  It’ll be good.  It was the shock of it that wasn’t good, I think.  My new companion is Hermana Santiago, who is also de Oaxaca.  It feels weird to be all packed up now.  It’s like I don’t live here anymore and I’m overnighting or something.
My ankle’s ok, more or less.  I can walk short distances because my foot gets tired and then starts to hurt after about 15 min or so.  I’m still using crutches.  How am I going to a new area on crutches you ask? Well, I don’t know as well.  But, I’ll make it work.  I’ve almost finished packing to go to my new area.  I just have the last few details to put in order.  I have a lot of things. lol
It sounds like candy making was fun.  Yes, it’s me that doesn’t like nutlogs - and would you guess that a member made us a treat that's the same thing?! I about freaked out (nope, not about. I did freak out!)  I ate one.  I was so happy to see food that we have at home!
I hope Josh has fun in Las Vegas at the bowl game.  He must be so excited!   OH MY GOSH THAT SOUNDS SOOOO COOL AND FUN AND AWESOME.
Christmas is different here. For example, they don’t do Christmas trees - that's American.  They do have these huge nativity sets though - that's very Mexican.  It seems like New Year’s is bigger than Christmas!
I’m soooooooooooooo EXCITED to talk to my family on Christmas!  I only have an hour to talk - which is more than they've had in years past so I feel very lucky!!!
Adios, Hermana Talbot
