Mexico-Week 64

Hola!

This picture was taken when Elder Christofferson visited our mission.

Pues (well), this week was very interesting. I've been working on applying to BYU-I so, hopefully, I’ll get in. These past few weeks have been a whirlwind for me, working on putting my non-missionary life in order and working to save children of God at the same time. It's been great and I have seen now more than ever the influence of God in my life. I just love watching as people begin to understand and to put the gospel into practice. Watching them get their own answers is even better. And then, you get to watch them make covenants with God. And soon, one of those who was baptized will be going to the temple!  It is one of my converts from San Juan.  His name is Gael.  Isn't it great? :D
Our lovely investigators made us the best food I’ve had in the field. Their son is going to be baptized on Sunday!!  Their names are Ursula and Raquel (the redhead).  The son’s name is César.
I don’t know if you can tell just how mountain-y our area is.
This church is called Calvario (Calvary).  It is up high.  People put chains on their feet and pull huge weights up the hill 'to be forgiven'.

HAMBURGERS. 3 FOR 35 PESOS.  Hamburgers here are pretty normal but they are small and have chilis (jalapeños).

This is an outlook place. We are with an investigator who was showing us where his friend lives so we can teach her .
What else has happened this week?  Well...we have a surprise baptism, and a surprise confirmation from someone who only got baptized but nor confirmed.
Hermana Cruz is awesome, as always.

The ward is good here.  They’re really supportive and have a ton of activities planned.  They always accompany us to lessons so that’s great!
We have new investigators, hopefully they’ll start attending church.  They are progressing little by little.  I have great hope.  The elders steal our investigatiors sometimes.

We attended a multi-zone conference with the Leon Zone and the Guanajuato Zone.

TELL ELENA HAPPY BIRTHDAY!  I’ve been thinking about her all week.

Adios, Hermana Talbot
